I grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. Alaska is an amazing place because of how remote it is, but that vastness presents significant challenges in healthcare; most of the state is inaccessible by road and patients often need to travel to Seattle to see specialists. Working at the Alaska Native Medical Center and the state public health department in college, I learned how crucial preventative care is. I chose to practice pediatrics because pediatricians are the “front line” when it comes to prevention of future medical issues - through immunizations, guidance, developmental monitoring, and regular check-ups.
I love being a pediatrician not only for the obvious reason that I love working with kids, but also because it offers the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients and their caregivers. My role as a pediatrician is to partner with families so we can work together to keep kids healthy. I love the idea of watching my patients grow up, celebrating their successes with them, helping them through difficult times, and guiding them toward healthy adulthoods while providing their families with tools to assist in the journey.
After practicing general pediatrics in Fort Atkinson for 11 years, I moved back to Madison with my husband & twin boys in 2022. I love Madison and everything it has to offer! When I'm not seeing patients, I enjoy spending time outdoors, gardening, traveling, and – if I’m lucky! – hanging out with my busy teenage sons.
