Puneet Dhillon, MD
Dr. Dhillon is a board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine committed to working in partnership with her patients. She knows that the best health care involves treating illness and supporting all aspects of a patient’s overall well-being.
“Shared decision-making between physician and patient is so important in helping the whole individual person get healthy and stay healthy,” she says. “I enjoy taking care of people in a proactive relationship, and I love my role as a guide to my patients.”
Dr. Dhillon is a 2009 graduate of the prestigious Government Medical College Amritsar in India. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee in 2016, before moving to Madison and treating acute illness patients at Beam Healthcare in Stoughton. She joined Associated Physicians in 2018.
Growing up, Dr. Dhillon was inspired by her grandfather and her aunt, a pediatrician, to pursue a career in medicine. She is fluent in three languages, and her international studies in medicine have given her unique insights into managing health care for a wide variety of patients.
“I have seen so many cases where lifestyle isn’t considered in overall health care,” she says. “Getting to know patients well makes them more comfortable and helps me understand how underlying conditions might be affecting their lives.”
A Good Fit
At Associated Physicians, Dr. Dhillon’s practice in Internal Medicine includes providing primary care as well as treating illness and disease for patients aged 18 to 80—and beyond. She says the group’s long history of providing excellent primary care is a good fit for her commitment to helping patients achieve their best health.
She says diversity and an enjoyable quality of life drew her to Madison. “It’s smaller than Milwaukee but still offers so much,” she says. She enjoys cooking, spending time with her husband and their young daughter—and exploring the city’s many ethnic grocery stores and restaurants.
