Devoted to Children
Dr. Nondahl is a specialist in Pediatric Medicine who says that one of the most rewarding aspects of her practice is supporting the health, personalities, talents and abilities of her patients from infancy through childhood, and into young adulthood.
“I love the creativity, boundless energy and joy that children of all ages possess,” she says. “I can’t imagine myself in a career where I wasn’t interacting with ‘the next generation.’”
At Associated Physicians, Dr. Nondahl provides comprehensive primary health care services for children, teens and young adults. She performs well-baby checkups and school physicals, and diagnoses and treats conditions ranging from strep throat and sports injuries, to chronic and serious health problems.
Expert Pediatric Care
Dr. Nondahl is board certified in pediatric medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Society. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Medical School and completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Wisconsin. She has practiced pediatrics in Dubuque, Iowa and Overland Park, Kansas. She joined Associated Physicians in 1990.
The mother of a grown son and daughter who are twins, Dr. Nondahl is active in her church, where she volunteers with children's programs. She loves to interact with people from different cultures and has participated in Yugoslavian and Indonesian foreign exchange programs and a medical trip to Honduras. She appreciates that her practice at Associated Physicians provides her with the opportunity to get to know families from all over the world.
“It is a privilege to walk with families and to support them both medically and emotionally,” she says. “Parenting is not one-size-fits-all, so I strive to understand the culture, values and perspective of each family because that helps me provide personalized care and advice.”
Comprehensive & Compassionate
The Associated Physicians commitment to providing the highest quality of personalized care for patients is important to Dr. Nondahl.
“Many of our patients comment on how caring and compassionate we are, not only in pediatrics but also in our lab and X-Ray department, because those settings can be frightening to children," she says. "In addition, all of our pediatric nurses are registered nurses and have many years of experience, so they’re not only highly skilled and excellent resources for parents, they are also well loved by the children who are our patients. As a result, the nurses and physicians in our department work as an effective team to meet the physical and emotional needs of our patients.”
